Committee Mission

  • Award scholarships to high-achieving students with majors in accounting or finance
  • Increase student awareness of CFMA and careers in the construction industry
  • Promote education for employees of member firms who are pursuing accounting or finance degrees

The Portland Chapter of CFMA awards scholarships of $2,000 (student) / $3,000 (member) for accounting and finance majors. All students who apply by the deadline and meet the minimum requirements specified in the instructions are eligible for these scholarships.

The Scholarship Committee will review applications and choose recipients in two categories, student and member. The applications are due February 28, 2009 with awards announced in April.

 2008 Scholarship Awards Minimize

Portland’s Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) announced the award of $1,500 scholarships to the following students for the fall of 2008:

CFMA was formed to serve as “The Source and Resource for the Construction Financial Professional.”  http://www.cfma.org/ .  Representing all types of contractors, including generals and subcontractors as well as developers, construction managers, architects, engineers, principals and material and equipment suppliers, CFMA's membership is also open to all those serving the construction industry, such as lawyers, public accountants, bankers, sureties, insurance agents and carriers and other service providers.
